A customer (C) and a plumber (P)
P: Good morning, this is Sheffield Plumbing Services. Can I help you?
C: Yes, I have a problem with a leak. Can you come to take a look at it?
P: Is the water coming out very quickly?
C: No, but it’s been running all night so everything is wet.
P: What is your address?
C: 125 Main St., Sheffield
P: OK, I’m in your area fixing another problem so I can come in 1 hour.
C: What shall I do about the water coming out?
P: Do you know how to turn the main water tap off?
C: No, I’m not sure where it is.
P: Well, its usually under the sink, or maybe in your cellar.
C: I’ve found it! The water has stopped.
P: Good, I will see you in 1 hour and try to fix the leak.
C: Can you give me some idea of the price to fix the problem?
P: Well there is a £40 call-out charge and then £40 per hour plus any materials I need.
C: It’s very expensive, and I will have to buy new wallpaper.
P: Perhaps you can claim the cost from your house insurance
C: Thanks. I will check that and I’ll see you later
